O Windy Day; O Windy, Windy Day

1999-10-12

Of all the days I could leave on, I end up leaving today. All in all, it's been pretty nice, if you don't count those GALE FORCE WINDS! I've spent a good chunk of the day in granny gears, probably not even averaging 5 mph. I have definitely earned every inch.

And I'm not even to Kenosha yet. I'm sitting in a bean field just north of it taking a lunch break. For those who want to know, I followed this route: Milwaukee -> 38 -> G -> H -> 11 -> 31.

I had originally planned to follow 32. I believe this route is more scenic than 32, though it may have more hills. HW 31 is very busy, but to the best of my knowledge, nobody has tried to run me over yet. I think hauling that trailer helps. Instead of being another stupid bicycler, I'm now another stupid bicycler with a big trailer, which deserves slightly more clearance.

So, anyway, I've finally left. Let's see how far I get.
