Mississippi and Nebraska


We camped that night in a Wildlife Management Area just off the Mississippi, where all night could be heard the steady "thrum thrum thrum thrum thrum" of passing barges.

That's me doing the mosquito dance.

Some people might consider this a destination. That bridge really does swing, though.

Look. It's Nebraska. So flat...

Now it really is a party! Steven's faithful Tahoe decides to shred a belt. No problem, we'll just pull into that garage there where the owner speaks English "Un Poquito." Through the help of several translators, he informed us that the engine might last a couple of hours or a couple of weeks. We press on.
