A Quick Hiking Trip

2004-09-10

I've been looking forward to hiking in Sequoia National Park for at least 2 1/2 years now. A while back, I had found this map that showed a hot spring smack in the middle of nowhere. So I planned a hike around it.

The trailhead is at Mineral King, California. Getting there is easy: Leave LA. Drive North on 405 then 5 then 99. Hang a left on 198. Take a right on Mineral King Road. This road is all of 24 miles long, but will take you at least an hour (I know, I know, I thought I could drive fast, too).

Not a whole lot of commentary here. Basically, the first part of the hike consisted of one magnificent view after another. By the end of the hike, it was still one magnificent view after another, except I really didn't feel like taking pictures anymore.

I hiked. I panted. I didn't do a write-up. But there are pictures.
