It's peanut butter jelly time

Seems like it took forever for old man winter to green-light this expedition. But, though still cool, the weather is good enough, so I'm gone.

I'm off on another bicycle trip. This one takes me north. Mentally, preparing for this trip was easy, as I've done it so many times before. Physically, I thought I was ready. I was wrong. Emotionally...Emotions. Not sure where they came from. How unpleasant. But I can deal with them later.

I took the Cheese Country ATV Trail from Browntown, Wisconsin to Monroe. I then hopped on the Badger State Trail and headed for Verona. I stopped early in the day just north of Belleville. Why? Because I was tired. I didn't sleep well last night, and as usual I packed too much gear. And I'm out of shape. I've already sorted out a big dead carp's weight worth of stuff that I can live without and will be dropping it in the mail come morning.

I must say that the Wisconsin State bicycle trail so far is very acceptable (the ATV trail sucked). The Badger Trail is smooth and isolated from traffic. The tunnel between Monticello and Belleville is a nice touch. There are plenty of critters to see: deer, woodchuck, turkey, snake and turtles today. There were plenty of folks on the trail biking and walking. One lady was pushing a stroller while walking her dog and cat.

I've thrown up a tent in somebody's woods near Highway 69. And I just finished dinner. Peanut butter and jelly. I only eat it when I'm traveling because I have no self control for the stuff. Throw in some BBQ potato chips (which I did) and call it ambrosia.
