Rain Delays

I seem to be bouncing back and forth between time zones as I travel south. It's very confusing.

Because of the rain I decided to stay at the hotel in Garrison last night. Walking to the lobby to score morning coffee I met police with drawn weapons. They were visiting another room.

I stayed at the hotel until 10:30am (it might have been 9:30am -- I was never quite sure) waiting for a thoroughly nonimpressive rain storm to pass.

The Harbor Bar in Coleharbor serves the best Tator Tot Hot Dish I've ever had.

I spent 30 minutes under an overhang in Riverdale waiting for rain to pass.

I toured the Garrison Dam National Fish Hatchery. This is worth the stop just to see the paddlefish and sturgeon.

Somehow I managed to get to a picnic shelter at Knife River Indian Village National Historic Site before another downpour hit and wasted another 20 minutes.

I stopped for dinner at the Cafe DuMond in Stanton, and I had to wait for it to stop raining before leaving.

I spotted a number of critters today. Check out some of the pictures. Also, for most of the afternoon a strange yellow band hung in the sky. I don't know what it was.
