four bars in the San Luis Valley
I considered staying in Colorado Springs for another week, but the thought of sitting at another red light was just too stressful. So off I go. The San Luis Valley is a vast flat valley that seemingly has little other than cows. But for some reason the Cellular Gods deemed to endow this land with mighty 3G coverage.

back into the mountains
I probably shouldn't be trying to snap pictures on these roads while driving.

I would have stopped at a scenic overview to take a picture, but they were all snowed in.

between mountains and mesas
My plan was to stop in Durango for a few days, but upon arriving I realized Durango was just another big, noisy city. So I drove on past to Mancos, a little town between the mountains and the mesas. It is much quieter here.
