Chisos Mountains

tl;dr: I'm in Big Bend National Park. I peddled up into the Chisos Mountains where I will stay for a few days.

I didn't get rained on, and I didn't have too many critters crawl over me. It was a good night.

From the point where I camped it was up hill to... Well, it was up hill. Sometimes it was a gradual slope. Sometimes it was a steep slope. Sometimes it was a steep slope that looked like it should be level. Those are the worst.

The whole time the Chisos Mountains grew closer and closer.

I made my way to the visitor center, where I finally paid the park entrance fee. Then I climbed up to Chisos Mountain Lodge. In theory, this should have been the hardest part of the day, but I was expecting it. It took me an hour and half to peddle five miles with only 1600 feet of elevation gain. I suspect that's nothing compared to farther west. I am so wimpy.

I will stay at the lodge for only a couple of days, because it is very expensive.
