San Diego

2015-03-29

tl;dr: Down from the mountains and into urban jungle that surrounds San Diego.

The fog rolled in down below while I slept, but the air was clear up here.

I packed up and hit the gravel road well before sunrise. I was still walking my bike, but that's only because these roads are slightly suicidal in the dark. With sunlight came a long downhill roll with very little peddling and a lot of braking. I'm glad I have disc brakes.

Breakfast was found at a Wendy's on the edge of Chula Vista. Who knew that Wendy's served breakfast?

I rode as far West and South as possible without exciting the Border Patrol. Hello Mexican beach joggers behind the giant fence. I then made my way to a hotel farther north where I would spend the week.

A few people asked me about my travels, but interest levels were closer to comparing notes than novel interrogation. Bicycling touring along the coast is very common.

I guess that's as far as I go in this direction
