Island Of Honking Geese

tl;dr: After a break in Oregon, Illinois, I'm back on the water paddling a scenic stretch of the Rock River.

I stayed in Oregon one day longer than I wanted to. The weather was that bad. I finally got my summer haircut, which means I'm now effectively bald. Sheila, who cut my hair, also performs massages. I don't normally do that sort of thing, but my shoulders were sore, and she had no other customers. So I was talked into it. I'm not sure how much it helped, but it felt good at the time. Though Sheila pointed out my complete inability to relax.

I departed Oregon early in the morning under the watchful eye of The Eternal Indian.

The dam in Dixon has no easy portage. Getting back into the water was especially fun due to the three-foot high stone wall that made up the river's bank.

Apparently, this stretch of the Rock River is its most scenic. Look, pictures!

It was a pleasant enough day, but I stopped early because otherwise logistics would have been all messed up by Sterling.

I'm trespass camping on the Island Of Honking Geese. I am growing quite tired of honking geese.

As I was setting up my tent I realized that wind last week did in fact bend my tent poles.

I didn't actually stay on that boat
