tl;dr: I needed to stop again, so very little to report today. Please skip this one.

Well, work issues are piling up again. And I needed supplies. And the hotel that I was planning on stopping at in a few days (which reviewers described as a great place to stay if you're a "crackwhore") didn't have internet. So I decided to paddle five miles down to a small creek, and paddle up said creek a couple miles to Festus. I stached my kayak in some woods and walked another mile to a Best Western.

Sometimes I find the transition to sleeping in the sand one night to a plush up-scale hotel the next a bit jarring. But I arrived before breakfast was put away, and this hotel has an awesome breakfast spread, so I guess I'll live.

Some figures:

It looks like I've spent about 16 days actually paddling (not counting hotels and such). In that time I've covered about 510 miles. It's been all downhill, resulting in a whopping 386 foot drop from Wisconsin to here.

hey plebeian, how's the weather down there?
